Fare Vostro’s proposed Grid Interactive Microgrid System (GIMS) integrates on-site building energy resources with Alberta’s electricity grid infrastructure. The GIMS pilot solution will be deployed at a large warehouse site exceeding 0.5 million square feet operated by a multinational company. GIMS solution integrates and applies several advanced technologies and practices with the key aim of demonstrating greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction, improved resilience for the site with an ability to withstand grid disruptions and readiness to provide reliability and ancillary services to Alberta’s evolving electricity grid. This made-in-Canada solution strongly aligns with trends in the electricity and buildings sectors, offering the possibility to expand GIMS application beyond the warehouse market and in export markets.
