Resolve Plastic Recycling Ltd. (“RPR”) will build and demonstrate a novel technology for recycling and accelerate its development to commercial-ready. The RPMachine is a stand-alone plastics recycling technology (“PRT”) that is contained and operated in a shipping container or semi-trailer. The RPMachine employs a non-emitting process to convert 3 tonnes of waste plastic per hour into dense plastic R-Blocks.
R-Blocks are the same size and shape as conventional cinder blocks but have advantages of being a) less fragile, b) more insulative, c) easier to work with (cut, drill, or screw), d) very inexpensive to produce. R-Blocks are a suitable replacement for Concrete Masonry Units (“CMUs”) and other building materials in many applications. They are fully recyclable and have a very low product carbon footprint. Blocks produced by previous prototype machines have been tested for properties including flammability, compressibility, and deemed suitable for construction of buildings up to three storeys.
The RPMachine is the first design that will operate in a continuous cycle, increasing processing speed by a factor of 10X and energy efficiency by 4X over the previous generation prototype, making the RPMachine a cost-effective circular technology for mixed plastics. It will turn waste into a useful building product for less than the cost of landfill. R-Blocks may be sold for additional revenue. These short videos explain the technology.
