Aqua Pure Technologies (APT), in partnership with Artis Exploration, is introducing their PROH2O® Technology in Three Hills, Alberta, to address the region’s water scarcity and agricultural challenges. This system efficiently removes up to 99.9% of targeted contaminants from water, making it possible to recycle “produced” and “flow back” water from fracking operations.

Aqua Pure Technologies will treat flowback and produced fluid from three different fracking or re-fracking operations for Artis Exploration. The treated fluid will then be reused for up-and-coming frac operations. The project aims to recycle between 35,000 and 40,000 m³ of fracking water by September 2025, conserving water resources and reducing dependency on fresh water. It’s projected to cut CO2 emissions by approximately 42% by significantly reducing the need for water transport and disposal trucking. This initiative champions environmental stewardship and enhances operational efficiency in Alberta’s oil and gas industry, providing significant environmental and economic benefits.
