Since 1989, Curtis Environmental (a division of Curtis Construction Ltd.) has been a proud partner with CleanFARMs (previously CropLife Canada) in the development of the circular economy for agricultural plastics in Canada. As a leader in the recycling industry, Curtis is a vertically integrated company with the required trucking assets, experienced personnel, and a dedicated cleaning facility that manages CleanFARMs’ flagship plastic recycling program across Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Alberta. In 2023 alone, Curtis collected 1,113,000 kgs of small agricultural plastic containers, resulting in a savings of 1,892,110 tonnes of carbon emissions (CO2e) from being emitted to the atmosphere.
For this project, Curtis has partnered with HydroDyn Systems (HDS), a patented technology that offers a groundbreaking approach to plastic recycling. This project will advance Canada’s first polypropylene plastic recycling facility of its kind, designed to convert waste plastic from super sacks and twine into clean, high-value raw material feedstock for use across multiple industries.
