Atlas Power Technologies is developing an advanced activated carbon production facility in Nisku, Alberta, to support its proprietary energy storage solutions. This state-of-the-art facility will leverage innovative manufacturing techniques to produce high-quality activated carbon specifically designed for use in supercapacitors and advanced battery systems.

The Nisku facility will focus on sustainable production processes, incorporating locally sourced materials and environmentally friendly methods to minimize its environmental footprint. By producing activated carbon in-house, Atlas can optimize the material properties for enhanced energy density, efficiency, and performance in its energy storage systems.

This facility represents a critical step in Atlas’s strategy to vertically integrate its supply chain, reduce reliance on external suppliers, and enhance cost efficiency. The project will also create new jobs in the region, contribute to Alberta’s growing clean technology sector, and position Atlas as a leader in advanced material production for next-generation energy storage technologies.
