Total Containment’s Envirolock® Pipeline Reinforcement System (EPRS) is designed to reinforce CO2 pipelines to prevent and arrest Ductile Running Fractures (DRFs). CO2 pipelines are more susceptible to DRFs due to the gas’s specific properties, which contributed to public apprehension, costly project delays, and cancellations. This project aims to confirm EPRS’s arresting capabilities and mechanisms, complementing an ongoing demonstration project. If successful, EPRS could begin facilitating CO2 pipeline conversions as early as Fall 2026.
