For immediate release
EDMONTON, AB – Alberta businesses now have even more opportunity to invest in cost- and energy-saving technologies that will improve their operational efficiency and reduce their emissions. The Energy Savings for Business (ESB) program is expanding, creating an opportunity for participants to propose technologies that are unique to their projects and that may not be included in the current program.
The Expanded Technologies Pilot (ETP) aims to support and evaluate technologies not available in the ESB program (ESB Measures List) and have the potential to offer cost-effective savings to Alberta’s businesses. Up to $250,000 is available for each project with a maximum total of $1 million per parent company.
With the ETP stream, applicants submit an Expression of Interest with a funding request for their project, and a committee of experts will evaluate the project for the energy savings, emissions reduction, project costs and complexity to determine if the funding will be approved.
Funding will not be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will be reviewed as they are submitted, but funding will be awarded only to successful applicants that meet the criteria outlined in the Guidelines. Projects will be evaluated by a team of internal and third-party experts according to criteria that is based on eligibility, technical feasibility, project and measure costs, requested incentive and abatement costs.
Following a notice of approval, participants will have up to 12-months to complete and submit a post-project application.
