Cnergreen’s pilot project intends to demonstrate ArmorFoam™, a novel nanoparticle-stabilized foam that improves the performance and sustainability of CO2-enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and waterflood operations. CO2-EOR and waterflood operations are widely used in Alberta’s oil industry but face challenges including early fluid breakthrough and excessive water or CO2 production. ArmorFoam™ addresses these issues by sealing high-permeability flow paths. By improving the distribution of injected CO2 and water in the reservoir, ArmorFoam™ increases oil production, reduces energy use, and enhances the ability to permanently store CO2 underground. The pilot project will take place across multiple Alberta and Saskatchewan reservoirs.
