New Members Bring Extensive Investment and Energy Policy Experience to ERA Board

Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA) is pleased to welcome Sarah Applebaum and Dr. Monica Gattinger to its Board of Directors. They bring impressive accomplishments as recognized thought leaders in their respective fields of venture capital and technology innovation, and energy policy and regulation.

Applebaum is a Partner at Pangaea Ventures, a leading hard tech venture capital firm investing in climate solutions, food and water, and human health.  She brings over a decade of experience building entrepreneurial teams, scaling early-stage ventures, and venture financing. Sarah is an award-winning mentor and active committee member, recognized for supporting entrepreneurs and advancing innovation.

Dr. Gattinger is the Founding Chair of Positive Energy, Director of the Institute for Science, Society and Policy, and Full Professor at the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa. Her work is focused on convening academia, industry, government, and Indigenous leaders to address energy policy, regulatory, and governance challenges. She is a Fellow at the Canadian Global Affairs Institute, a board member of the Clean Resource Innovation Network (CRIN), a published author and columnist, and a highly sought-after speaker, strategic adviser, and media commentator on energy.
